New World Wiki

Grouping allows players to share experience gained from killing enemies. New World does not allow players to share quests with eachother.

When requesting to join a group via chat, players type "x" to request an invite. Example:

Player 1: Anyone want to do the Ennead expedition?

Player 2: x ennead

To Invite someone to group, mouse over their portrait and select the Invite to Group option. If you are already in a group, you can display or change your role by clicking the "..." at the bottom of the group display. To Leave a group, you can mouse over your own portrait or click the "..." at the bottom of the group display and select the button to leave.

New World's Group Finder allows players from different servers to join eachother in Expeditions. To access the Group Finder, press the default button "Esc" and select "Activities".

5-Man Groups[]

When most people refer to a group in New World, they are thinking of the standard 5-person group found in most MMO video games. These usually have the following:

  • 1 Tank
  • 1 Healer
  • 3 Damage

All Expeditions and Mutated Expeditions are built for 5-man groups. Though you can enter them with as few as 3 people.

Raid Groups[]

Raid groups can be any size from 2 to 20 people. Anyone can start a raid group.

Raids are used for:

  • Elite Chest Runs
  • Trial of the Devourer (20-person max)
  • Winter Rune Forge (10-person max)
  • The Hatchery (10-person max)
  • Yeti Event during Winter Convergence Festival
  • Fury of the Spriggan Event

PVP Flags[]

Whether or not you are PVP flagged can effect who you can group with. You cannot join a group of unflagged players while you are PVP flagged. Any players from the same Faction can form a group while PVP flagged. You can flag or unflag by pressing "U" while in a Settlement, Outpost, or Fast-Travel Shrine.
