Corrupted Invasion is the PvE Fort Defense event in New World.
Description[]
The Corrupted grow in number and strength as a result of the growth of a Territory's Settlement. When they descend on the Territory Fort in an attempt to overtake the Territory, the resulting event is an Invasion. Players must defend the fort against waves of Corrupted enemies of increasing difficulty. If the players fail to defeat the Corrupted and defend the Fort, the Territory suffers and loses upgrades such as Crafting Stations, Fort Gates, or Fort Turrets. Invasions occur approximately every four days, if Corrupted Breaches are not closed regularly.[1]
Participation[]
Players can sign up to participate in an Invasion by placing their name on the Settlement's Town Board. The Governor of the Territory can hand-pick 10 participants; the remaining 40 slots are selected randomly from those who have signed up. Invasions are limited to only Level 50 players and above.
Preparation[]
Much like during War, players are awarded 50 Battle Tokens to use at the Armory in exchange for ammunition, potions, and traps. Battle Tokens can also be earned through event participation.
The Invasion Event[]
Corrupted Enemies[]
Grunts[]
Grunts pose little threat but when they swarm, they can quickly take down any target. They focus on destroying structures. If they can't reach one of them, they begin to attack players. After a period of time, they start to frenzy, creating fast, intense, and increased damage while also burning themselves out. We recommended destroying Grunts as quickly possible.
Raiders[]
Raiders are the shock troops of the invading forces. They are skilled, tough and well-equipped. They are more than capable of handling themselves in melee combat. They focus on attacking players but will attack structures if there are no players in range.
Snipers[]
Snipers hang back and take pot shots at players from afar. They prioritize targets on the ramparts and are effective at suppressing turrets. They are also evasive, dodging and ducking to avoid player attacks.
Bombers[]
Bombers are runners with explosives strapped to their back. They run at structures and then blow themselves up, dealing significant damage. It is highly recommended to take them down using ranged weapons because they explode on death.
Bombers deal Siege damage on explosion.
Brutes[]
Brutes are huge, hulking beasts that smash structures. They will occasionally attack players that annoy them but are otherwise focused on destroying defenses. Brutes are very tough and require multiple players in order to defeat.
Most Brute attacks do Strike damage, but they ocasionally do Siege damage as well.
Bosses[]
Bosses can vary. Some are focused on destroying structures while others focus on attacking players. In addition, some of them apply buffs to other invading forces or debuffs to players.
Rewards[]
Invasion rewards are tied directly to a player’s scoreboard score. [2]
